DE Administrative Documents
- Position Statement on Distance Education - A combined effort by the executive committee of the faculty senate and Elizabeth Tebeaux at the inception of the TAMU Office of Distance Education in 1998.
- Vision 2020 - Vision 2020 is Texas A&M University's roadmap for attaining its quest to be recognized as a consensus "top 10" public university by the year 2020. Initiated in 1997 by then-President Ray Bowen, it represents the diligent work and vision of a task force of more than 250 faculty, staff, students, former students, local residents, corporate and public-sector representatives, and others. - Institutional Plan for Distance Education - Prepared by the TAMU Office of Distance Education in September, 2002.
- Quality Enhancement Plan - Prepared by the TAMU Quality Enhancement Committee to meet the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) accreditation requirements in 2002.
- DE Review Final Report - Visions and Recommendations for Distance Learning/Technology Mediated Instruction at TAMU, prepared by the Distance Education Review Committee for Dr. David Prior, Executive Vice President and Provost on September 10, 2004.
DE Regulations
- Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) - The Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools is the recognized regional accrediting body in the eleven U.S. Southern states (Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia). The Commission on Colleges is the representative body of the College Delegate Assembly and is charged with carrying out the accreditation process. The following SACS documents pertain to distance education:
- Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) - The rules adopted by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) are part of a larger body of state agency rules that are collected and published by the Office of the Secretary of State as the Texas Administrative Code (TAC). THECB's rules are codified under Title 19, Part I, of the TAC. Title 19 is Education, and Part I is the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board. To view the rules click here.
