Program Description
Educational Human Resource Development (HRD) is the process of improving learning and performance in individual, group, and organizational contexts through domains of expertise such as lifelong learning, career development, training and development, and organizational development. The master's program specializing in human resource development prepares individuals for professional careers relating to education and training of adults in both post-secondary schools and non-school settings. Competencies are explored as a strategic means to provide training, education, and new communication channels to business, education, government, and other public and private agencies.
These opportunities for learning are also linked with the Center for Distance Learning Research. Several faculty are involved in the management team of the Center. Research opportunities as well as internships and practical for graduate students are available at the Center.
The EHRD master's program prepares individuals for professional careers relating to education and training of adults in both post-secondary schools and non-school settings. The program emphasizes both technical and academic competence. The department also offers a variety of courses in women's studies, procurement and management of contracts and grants, group process skills, and education and aging.
Admission Requirements
All applicants must meet minimum entrance requirements as set by Texas A&M University. Satisfying the minimum criteria qualifies an applicant for consideration but does not guarantee admission to the EHRD program. The departmental admission committee will consider all criteria. Moreover, because this program prepares individual students for careers in working with adults, an applicant's life experience will also be evaluated as part of the consideration for admission to EHRD. Please refer to the Department Web page for complete admission requirements, http://eahr.tamu.edu.
