For more details on how to apply, visit Admissions. Graduate students will need to reference your program's website for specific application information. Please visit graduate application process webpage for additional information.

Distance Education Applicants will go through the same process as on-campus students for admission purposes. Once admitted, the Graduate and Professional School (GPS) will be reaching out and inviting you to an on-campus orientation. GPS is a great resource for all of your graduate and professional needs.

Distance Education Differential Tuition

  • The rate to be charged for distance education courses will range from a minimum of $40 per semester credit hour to a maximum of $550 per semester credit hour. Each academic department will have an individual rate that will be approved annually by the President of Texas A&M University.

If enrolling in distance education courses, you may be required to pay additional fees. Please refer to section notes, accessible by following CRN links in the schedule of classes for more information.

Registration

 Before registering for classes, students MUST update their location in Howdy under the My Record/Registration tab. The location selected should indicate your physical location while receiving instruction for the majority of the semester. All students are required to provide their location to ensure correct billing and comply with other state and federal rules.

Web-Based Off Campus (700-level Section Numbers) - Distance courses intended for students in Distance Education programs

  • Distance education differential tuition* is charged, and is charged to all enrolled students regardless of whether the student is a distance education student or an on-campus student.

Web-Based On Campus (590-599 or 690-699 or M99 Section Numbers) - Distance courses intended for students who are NOT in Distance Education programs

  • Tuition and fee assessment is consistent with traditionally delivered on-campus courses.
  • Subject to on-campus service fees.

How to Register

Aggie Schedule Builder

Admitted students will be able to register during the time assigned on their registration ticket. Log in to the Howdy portal and select the Registration Readiness icon to view your registration time assignment. While in the Howdy portal, click the Registration icon, then select the Registration and Schedule Builder channel to navigate to the Aggie Schedule Builder (Class Search and Registration). You will be prompted to select the semester term and institution you are registering for. Go to Courses to search and add courses. Once you have added all desired courses to your schedule, you can go back to the Build Schedule page and click on Generate Schedules. This will allow you to view and pick the schedule you want. Once you have determined which schedule you want to register for, click Send to Shopping Cart. To complete the registration process, you must click the maroon Register button at the top right corner. You may view the College Scheduler Help Video posted in Howdy for further guidance.

Register for Distance Education Courses

When adding courses for registration, you may narrow your course selections down by distance education. Go to Courses and utilize the "By Section Attributes" tab to select the "Distance Education" attribute. This will then show the course subjects and numbers that have Distance Education Sections.
